Tails. A Few Tips Before Use.
We have already said enough about Tails in the chapter on operating systems. Here, I will not talk about the advantages of Tails (you already know that this OS forgets everything unnecessary, except for the information saved in the encrypted storage) and that disks are securely encrypted, and much more. Yes, yes, Tails is cool.
What I want to draw your attention to is that under Tails, launched from a USB flash drive on the main hard drive of a laptop or other media, you have a clean operating system that, in case of anything, you can present as your main OS and which will only indicate that you are an exceptionally law-abiding citizen and generally do not use your computer often.
It should also be noted that the Tails operating system is not focused on anonymity on the network. Essentially, the only tool for anonymizing activity you have is Tor, which, as you will learn from the corresponding chapter, is neither anonymous nor safe. Tails is primarily about data security, protection against forensic analysis. If you need anonymity, use the Whonix operating system.
