Eavesdropping Information on the Screen

۰2 دقیقه

When I talk about the threat of eavesdropping, I mean the possibility of third parties peeking at the information on a victim's screen when they are using their smartphone or laptop. Those who like to work in public places, such as cafes and restaurants, are particularly at risk.

This threat should not be underestimated, especially if you are working with information that may be of interest to your adversaries. I have already discussed how law enforcement agencies managed to decrypt information on encrypted devices used by criminals through eavesdropping.

While you can protect your password from being seen by following this guide, other information, such as messages, is more complicated to secure. There are several solutions for protection, which can be divided into mechanical and software-based.

Mechanical Solutions for Protection Against Eavesdropping

The simplest solutions are protective films. They allow the screen image to be viewed only when directly in front of it and hide the image from those looking at the screen from an angle. This is an incredibly effective solution for protecting smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

We have a Telegram channel Hacker’s TOYS, where we publish information about various solutions, programs, and interesting services; you can also find information about protective films with links to products there.

There are laptops on the market that have eavesdropping protection built-in by default, such as the line of laptops with HP Sure View technology. Here’s a video demonstrating it.

However, the film is not the only solution I recommend. Its main problem is the lack of protection against eavesdropping from behind: in other words, people beside you won’t see anything, but someone behind you will see everything just as well as you do. But we have a solution for this threat as well.

In my first job, we had an office where developers, system administrators, and, most unpleasantly, management all sat in one large room. From time to time, our manager liked to walk around and check if his subordinates were working or just hanging out in "ICQ."
